Description: imageITLS courses give the student the knowledge and hands-on skills to take better care of trauma patients. ITLS stresses rapid assessment, appropriate intervention and identification of immediate life threats. The ITLS framework for rapid, appropriate and effective trauma care is a global standard that works in any situation. imageThe course focuses on providing optimal patient care in a team setting. Students will alternate between lecture and hands on practice, learning and practicing patient assessment, airway management, hemorrhage control, spinal motion restriction, extremity trauma, and auto extrication. Pre-Requisites: ITLS Provider – Basic is targeted toward students who already possess advanced first aid training (i.e. OFA-3, First Responder, Emergency Medical Responder, Advanced Wilderness First Aid, etc). ITLS Provider – Basic is the perfect “what’s next” course for an advanced first aider, First Responder, EMR, etc who is looking to expand their trauma assessment and management skill set. ITLS Provider – Advanced is targeted towards those professional health care providers who have training in advanced airway management, fluid resuscitation, etc. Course Length: 16 hours (8 hours didactic, 8 hours skills based learning) Course Materials: imageThe current course manual is the 7th edition ITLS for Emergency Care Providers textbook. All course participants must have a copy of this textbook, and have completed their pre-read activities prior to their scheduled course date. Course Completion Requirements:
  • 74% or higher on a 50 question multiple choice written exam
  • Successful completion of one practical scenario with a score of adequate or higher

Refund Policy:

Student cancellations must be made in writing at least 10 business days prior to the start of your course. Course materials must be unopened and in original condition to be returned. If these conditions are met a full refund, less a $25 administration fee, will be returned to the student. If we deem the course materials unacceptable for return then the cost of the course materials will also be deducted from the refund.

No refunds will be provided for cancellations with less than 10 business days notice, or for student no shows. In some cases it may be possible to transfer a student\’s enrollment to a future course. This will be considered on a case by case basis.

Course Cancellation Policy:

Pacific Emergency Medical Training makes every effort to conduct courses as scheduled. It is a very rare occurrence that a course would cancel, but we reserve the right to cancel a course due to unforseen circumstances, low student enrollment, instructor illness, etc.

If this occurs students will be entitled to a full refund (less the cost of course materials if they are not acceptable for return), and Pacific Emergency Medical Training will endeavour to reschedule the course as soon as possible.
